true conservatives are frank enough to admit that it always has and always will be an issue. I wish you had travelled outside your own neck of the woods, to other countries and places, where race is a lot less of an issue or not an issue altogether. you think our country was founded by a bunch of small-minded racists To the contrary. I think our country was founded by forward thinking men. They were bound by the prejudices of their time, but rose above them. At a time where the layfolk talked about monarchies, they instituted democracy. At a time where people considered the right of the king divine, they proclaimed the right of the people to be free as God given. These men saw --over two hundred years ago-- much beyond where you and other racists bigots can see today. These are people who were at the forefront of society, morally and scientifically. If Ben Franklin or Thomas Jefferson were alive today they would be pursuing advanced scientific theories and novel political systems that would take us another two hundred years into the future. If you are truly a patriot you should do as our founding fathers did: look forward and propose a new, better society instead of proposing to send us back to America as it was just before the civil war.
