You're right, there is a definite tendency to confuse the amount of ink spilled over the Israeli/Pal conflict with the amount of blood spilled over it. "Pretty nasty violence" would have been nearer the mark. But still, his point was good, that the violence is driving the agenda. The one point he really missed imo is that there are two simulataneous wars, one on the ground that uses guns, and one in the world press that uses pictures and ink. Both sides, but especially Israel, must maneuver for room to strike a blow in the first war without scoring an own goal in the second.
