Good Morning Don,

Your not sure - I'm not sure - we've got some good company out there.gg

The bulls expect one more dip or retest - the bears expect one more crash and breakthru of huge historical importance.

Sounds like the perfect setup for a short squeeze - exactly when we all don't expect it.

The News has been pored on so negatively.I was encouraged to see SI home page in an upbeat news fashion this morning.

Peace possibilities in India/Pakistan.Europe is up.

Just think give it thirty days and earnings also will be up.

Neat analysis of earnings guidance so far on Friday shows upbeat adjustments running just about equal to downward warnings.Past quarters negative ran 3 to 1.

It's always darkest just before dawn - my watch says its morning - man it sure is dark.

Lets hope hope for some positive relief - wouldn't that be nice??

Bob

" Idon't think the "bottom" is in yet. A real reversal day is needed like 8 October 1998. The market opened that day at 1415 - went down to 1357 - rose more than 100 points to 1462 and finally closed the day at 1419 - 4 points from where it started. But from then on, it was up, up and away."

Don.
Friday was a bit like that. The fear that overhangs the market seems to have dissipated a bit. NYC a little more relaxed than when the terror scare started. India-Pak nuke war seems less likely than last week. And perhaps the enron fears have run (most of) their course. A good base building week is what is needed. Shaky monday and tuesday morn followed by a nice rally back to the mid 1600's??? mike

Great post Don. Market volume is too light to indicate the green on my screen will last. We just did not quite get the blow off reversal day we needed on Friday.

It will happen but it is anyone's guess as to when that will take place.
