I've never had a pit or a cocker. I have had many rottweilers and mastiffs and now bird dogs. I've never had a dog bite anyone. Terriers were breed primarily as ratters and can be a bit aggressive. Some larger and more powerful dogs such as pits and dobies do have terrier lines. I have heard the biting complaint about cockers before. A few things I love about my pointers are that they love water and don't bark. Many people are unaware that larger breeds are often bred to be somewhat docile because of their large size. Anyone considering a large breed puppy should ask if the parents hips have been x-rayed.
