This Just About Says It All MM.

>>Forbes magazine in the June 10, 2002, issue provided evidence in this regard when the author James Grant discussed the subject of hedge funds and how hedge funds were making their way into the grocery store. Mr. Grant explains: “When things like hedge funds actually acquire a mass market following, some kind of disaster is just around the corner.” Or, and this seems eerily reminiscent of say 2000, except substitute “long” and “going up”: “It is an open secret among seasoned bears that only a small fraction of short sales these days are the result of rigorous and original securities analysis. Nowadays more and more shares are sold for no better reason than that "the market is going down."<<

Heh heh heh......

And that's exactly what I see in about ten US and a few CDN issues I am following closely, especially the wireless sector.

Stocks that were 5 - 10 two or three weeks ago reported information that was negative , but not to the extent they should now be selling at 1.50 - 3.50.

I look at the trades when I get home and see they are being whacked in soize at the bid by the hedge - hogs , making the decline a self-fulfilling good trade on overall weakness brought on by the ever panicking MU - funds.

The thing now is whether or not the generals, such as Cisco, will issue warnings - restate prior guidance - or up guidance in the next week or so.That's what I am keeping my eye on and expect we are near the short term bottom here , barring any significant bad news from big tech c.o.’s.

Watching for NOK now to issue guidance tomorrow.Cramer playing into the hands of the hedge-hogs is quite funny , as usual.........guess that book was just what he needed to shoot to stardom on Wall(Mart)Street.Famous crooks, eh?CNBS are tuning bearish- er now I guess. What a racket.

RE: Gold....there is no reason for gold to appreciate at this point other than more scary $hit on the Homefront.I can't believe the US is issuing statements like " dirty nuke attempt foiled " etc.It just doesn't make sense unless they are trying to justify the recent new security measures.

I'm not saying it didn't happen , just that it's very unusual to go public with that sort of thing. If GW thinks the economy is going to improve markedly with these clouds passing overhead every other day, he is dreaming........or maybe he just fell of the couch!

So here we are doing the limbo……..
