I don't think that the gold properties are a "red herring" at all. Simply, the increasing gold price and more importantly, the current belief in gold, has made this viable.

The company is going to need money to continue exploration on the diamond front. They have proven, economically viable gold reserves in Idaho. Add to that, the current interest in gold and they would be foolish to ignore this asset.

Interestingly, if memory serves correct about the cost of recovery, the value of the profit available in the gold property alone is greater than the the current market cap of the stock.

I guess that we will just have to continue exercising patience.
