John:

RE JDSU - At this momment in time the balance sheet and net cash level means the stock is a value play. The downside is their market has excess capacity so its going to be late 2003 or 2004 before they start to see a meaningful uptick in sales.

So by then who knows what shape the balance sheet will be in?

They should get a bounce in July with the rest of the market so maybe your friends should look @ entering a position in a couple of weeks as the naz forms a bottom. The telco sector should really flush and reach extreme pessimisim soon.

I guess a combination of the comp BP and the telco BP hitting oversold readings (single digits for telco) would be a good point.

I'm staying away from telco and over concentrating in storage when I redeploy.
