No way Jose'! lovefest of self-congratulatory agreement

Point #1: God is infallible; humans aren't and their institutions aren't. The church I belong to requires only that "We believe in Jesus Christ, Son of the Living God."

Once I belonged to a church that tried to become a "reconciling ministry" some time after I left it. That meant they invited gays and lesbians to come in. I think some did. I would not have been comfortable in that scenario. One of the main families of the church I moved to had a gay son who was loved by most of the people in the church as far as I know (He was just an acquaintance with me). Things started to fall apart, I'm told, when that family started to push the gay agenda. The ministers said "No. We love [blank], but Jesus taught us it isn't right." I think they finally left that church for another. (OT: I bought two cars from that family and still have one, but the door is falling off.) They are a fine family. That doesn't mean I can stomach what their son does.

Point #2: I don't think religion and politics should be mixed. That doesn't mean we should strike the words off coins, prohibit nativity displays on court house lawns, rip the Ten Commandments off the highschool walls and such. Every President since George Washington has called on God for guidance. That's OK too. People put their hands on a bible and swear to tell the truth. That's OK, although I would accept an alternative oath for those who wish it.

Point #3: I don't think Islam is an evil religion. I'm well aware of the similarities between Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. That being said, I think Islam is in danger of becoming a failed religion if it doesn't start getting serious about its fringe elements. I don't necessarily think Muslims have to go out and get them, but Muslims DO HAVE TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM AND QUIT WHINING ABOUT DISCRIMINATION AGAINST THEM IF WE DOUBLE CHECK GUYS WITH BEARDS AND TURBANS COMING TO AMERICA FROM MUSLIM COUNTRIES. THEY HAVE TO HELP OR AT LEAST GET OUT OF THE WAY UNTIL TERRORISM IS DEAD. PERIOD. OTHERWISE IT WILL BECOME A WAR AGAINST ISLAM AND NOBODY WANTS THAT.
