Crusades or no crusades, the enlightenment of the high Middle Ages makes the Clinton era look awfully dim...

The Crusades lasted for about 500 years. Certainly if this generation does not resolve the matter, future generations will have the opportunity to do so.

Agreed. I seem to remember in brave new world or 1984 that the masses were constantly bombarded by news of a far away war to keep them docile at home. I know Al Queda is a real enemy but I don't believe most of the arab world is. W is such a politician I really don't trust him to want an end to the war. its too good for his ratings. BTW "homeland" suggest that most of us are in colonies overseas or something. A fruedian slip perhaps?
