His QQQ call may have worked but who could have ever guessed the type of election that call would be made into

That's what trading is for. When conditions change, you don't curse everyone and damn your own customers, you trade. You do not just sit there and take 70% losses on a trade that you turn into a longterm buy and hold while making fun of buy and holders.

That would be dishonest.

As you say, there's no shortage of hindsight, and with the benefit of that hindsight, it is safe to say that Brinker's efforts at timing the market as a whole have been much better than his efforts at timing the Nasdaq.
