If you review any honest history of the Vietnam era, you'd find that my sure knowledge at the time that the USS Maddox incident was trumped up in order to sucker Congress into the Tonkin Gulf Resolution was simply better information than 99% of the population had. BTW, another of my heroes is Senator Wayne Morse. The only Senator to vote against that resolution. He was right. 99 other Senators were bamboozled. I could go on, but I'm afraid it is probably your mind that is closed to the facts. Re: your information was propaganda, and you were deluded. That was earlier. I was brought up Roman Catholic. Now that was propaganda, and for a time, with huge groupthink social pressure applied, I was almost deluded enough to think that I had a "vocation" for the priesthood. Now that would be delusional.
