If you figure this one out, let me know the answer. I'm sure puzzled. Here's your answer, from Jewel: "...toward X and the participation of X no matter how that participation presents itself..." You can see there a differentiation between X and the way X's participation sometimes manifests itself. I make that distinction. Sort of like the distinction between the sin and the sinner. I make lots of distinctions a lot of other people just gloss over. Maybe it's just in my genes, but I can't abide black and white thinking. I think it's stupid and dangerous and I do what I can to disabuse people of it. I've also done as much as I can to avert the negative manifestations of X's participation. My last hope was to convince the "agitators" to take a "last clear chance" approach to avoiding the flare-ups. But that has not been successful. I have run out of ideas and I am receptive to suggestions--legitimate suggestions, that is.
