Sure does, but I think it probably is due to the political success of the Christian Right at this time. They launched a very effective program about a decade ago in the churches and won local political offices making their objectives look oh so innocent and reasonable and always denying that anything political was afoot. I clearly remember Ralph Reed emphatically stating on Crossfire one night that the Christian Coalition was not a political organization. I do, however,think that their political power has peaked as the nation is reacting negatively to the "in your face" religiosity of Falwell, Robertson, Ashcroft, and W. The sex scandal in the Catholic Church has also exposed a whole bunch of hypocrisy....
