No fireflies here yet, but I bet we see the first ones soon as we are supposed to get a lot of rain this week. Just starting to see butterflies around here over the past 2-3 days. Not many mosquitoes yet, which has been kind of nice, but I bet we have lots after this week is over with.

Fireflies here, too, first time, central NJ.
Always a welcome sight, part of the cycle of the seasons.

Anyone ever hear about those fireflies in Vietnam: I read something about them recounting how, living up and down a river, they somehow get into synchronous flashing, for miles! (the biologists were trying to figure out how they did that, over considerable distances).
