Fear, not hate. Falwell scares me silly. Well, not so much him personally, but the way he is able to get people to go along with his wacked ideas. People always ask "How could the Germans have followed Hitler?" He seemed to have the same way of hypnotizing people by weaving a tale of a strong nation with lots of clear black and white delineations. There is something very appealing to a world where there is a clear line between us and them, and no gray in between. Do I think Falwell would gas Jews if he got the chance. Nah. But his views on homosexuals, and his comments after the WTC, definitely show a dark side, IMHO.
