Electroglas Inc. has signed an agreement with LSI Logic Corp. to supply the company with probers. Milpitas, Calif.-based LSI Logic has also placed an order for multiple systems, the companies said today.

Advanced wafer probing equipment is critical in the testing of final circuit performance in semiconductor manufacturing processes. San Jose-based Electroglas says its EG5/300 Argos provides unprecedented +/-2.5 micron probe-to-pad system accuracy, allowing for high-volume probing of LSI Logic’s latest products with very tight bond pad/bump geometry.

"This outstanding partnership has produced many win-win scenarios and reflects our mutual dedication to meeting the advanced technical manufacturing challenges of world-class SOC production," said Wayne Woodard, VP and general manager of Electroglas’ prober products division.
