I have no idea when the market will bottom, but it will eventually, and only AFTER the bottom will we be likely to recognize it. What strikes me is the despairing comments of investors who are getting hurt: they are the flip-side of the happy comments and euphoric feelings of the not so long ago roaring bull. This is normal, what happens during a bear/down market...and something that's happened many times before.

Unfortunately, most of them already have stashed their money where no one will ever get to it. They'll be fined (of course, they've probably got enough "revealed money" to take care of that), jailed for a very brief period, and then live the life of total luxury in the Caymans.

Where's the punishment? I got more when I really WAS taken to the woodshed!
