People are ignorant. And they like it that way. You'd think Enron would have woken them up.

On a similar note most folks around here like to talk about the market with me and all tell me how they are right out of it. Then the conversation goes like this:

I say "good for them" and ask them what's in their retirement accounts.
Their answer is usually "oh you know..mutual funds"
I ask "Equity funds?"
They say "Yes"

End of story. Clueless.

Fascinating indeed, the majority of the entire "stock market" premise is an "investing" travesty
