Do not have the answer to that.
Every time in the past I asked myself such questions, it happened.

One month MSFT was way above max pain and I could not figure out how they could drop it 5 points in a few days. Held my nose and bought puts (not nearly enough). It gapped down 3 points the next day on a downgrade.

Never assume that it CAN NOT HAPPEN.
It most assuredly can.

Now the question is: will it.

There are more cross currents this month than before, and perhaps this month Max Pain fails on several compomnents.

If we ramp up to QQQ 31, I will be more comfortable shorting.
