Here's my conclusion on the recent action:

After stock crater to 6 year lows yesterday, Company went public with a hail mary report that the CIT IPO was approved. At the same time, they thought they should throw in some bad news about restating their recent numbers hoping the IPO blurb would shield the stock from another hit. Looking at after-hours action, it looked like their strategy worked. But turn the page to today..the WSJ reports that the SEC has opened another investigation into TYC and I also read elsewhere (Rueters maybe?) that Moodys downgraded their debt again. Today should be interesting and extremely volatile.
