Or you can account for all of those but then the figure includes all taxes or at least all federal taxes.


I kind of thought that's where you wanted to go. Tax simplification; heck with the additions and subtractions, one simple percentage off the top line. No social engineering through tax credits, tax deductions.

I get the same thing. I tried going around it and to my surprise I did. Try bea.doc.gov and then select the tables from the list.

Do you remember how those sites dealt with the Earned Income Tax credit?

Sorry, I've never tried to study that item. Your explanation certainly makes sense from an accounting perspective, but I don't know whether that's a criteria.
