America and Israel certainly have this in common, that they have a Secretary of State (Foregin Minister) whose initiatives bear no relation to the stated aims of the rest of the government, and are decidedly at odds with the words and deeds of the President (Prime Minister). Who just said that the time was not ripe for negotiation because no one had confidence in the emerging Palestinian government? Not Wolfowitz, I believe.
