Cardiac Science Announces $1.3 Million Sale of Defibrillators and Patient
Monitors Sold to Hospitals in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran

International Sales Contributing to Strong Revenue Growth in Quarter

IRVINE, Calif., June 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cardiac Science, Inc. (Nasdaq: DFIB) today announced that it has been selected to outfit hospitals in Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Pakistan and Iran with 138 Artema(R)-brand patient monitors and 50 emergency defibrillators. The orders shipped during this quarter to local Cardiac Science distribution partners in the four countries totaled approximately $1.3 million.
The equipment will be used to outfit an expansion of an existing Artema(R)-equipped Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Faneteer Hospital in Eastern Saudi Arabia and installed in various Khaneh Sazie hospitals in Iran, as well as an ICU in the Children's Hospital in Lahore, Pakistan and numerous ICU departments at hospitals in Turkey.
Cardiac Science President and CEO Raymond W. Cohen, said, "These international orders are indicative of the strong efforts of our global distributors to leverage existing customer relationships and the large installed base of Artema products. We are currently experiencing a high level of activity and significant demand from international emergency response, hospital and medical organizations for our Powerheart(R) AED product as well as our hospital defibrillators and monitors. As a result, we expect sales for the second quarter of 2002 in our international market segment to exceed $3 million, which is nearly double what we estimated."
Emergency defibrillators and patient monitors sold exclusively into international markets have become an important part of the Cardiac Science product line since the Company purchased Stockholm-based Artema Medical AB last November. The purchase of Artema, in addition to contributing international revenue and a broader product offering, has resulted in significant distribution synergy and has facilitated the sale of Cardiac Science core Powerheart products into the Artema distribution network in Europe, the Middle East and Asia.

Pretty serious cash for a little guy.
Don't see that it will come back down too much....and this should make sure it's in the 2000
