WRONG! WCDMA failing virtually assures lower royalties to qcom, possibly MUCH lower...

LOL! The EV-DO bridge is built and wCDMA is still on the drawing board!

EV-DO was more mature when QCOM demo'd it in Nov 1999 than WCDMA is now, probably by a few years.

Next thing to watch is Sprint giving up on the NOK/MOT/TI EV-DV bullshit and moving to DO. <gg>

I also loved the reference to the GSM crowd deciding to wait for 4G. What is 4G other than a word? They haven't even yet decided what the WCDMA 3G standard is, though most of the techology does exist, though needing a lot of work. 4G doesn't even exist on the drawing board.
