I still have a problem with their concerns.

They don't want to pay royalties to Qcom. Therefore they won't build networks to use the Q's tech, and as a result continue to pay for unused spectrum, and fall behind the world in tech wireless development, loosing market share and leadership advantage.

On the other hand, simply biting the bullet and paying Q enables them to make more money themselves. Look at the past whining of the Koreans over the royalty rate. Complaining that they are paying too much of their profits. Profits. The key word that the Europeans don't have from 3G, and won't for a long time yet due to stubbornness.
