"More consolidation likely among banks" I know locally that everybody in Hawaii is waiting for somebody to buy out Bank of Hawaii -- no takers so far but a takeover premium seems priced-in. I have no access to inside information, but I am suspicious about the quality of their loan portfolio. I wonder if credit quality is a national issue. it seems like one if you count the "high yield" bond market -- I wonder if there is also trouble in the banking sector.
