Art, you can count me among the chagrined. I think any time you fail in a core business, one that you actually invented years earlier and hold untold numbers of patents in, is a real reason to be chagrined. Just because you found a cancer and started treatments and hopefully went into remission doesn't mean having cancer is a positive event. This is not some evolutionary deal such as the demise of typewriters, punched cards or even aluminum to copper chips, disk storage is a core business that will continue to grow. There is a bigger picture here.
