OT...From the thread Luddite >>>Your error is thinking that the world shares your Luddite tendencies<<<

Having seen the advantages of technology and the broadband road map of the future I think I'll stick to being a Luddite.

I) don't want a cell phone or a pager and be on someone else's electronic leash.

2) I don't want instant access to every nook and cranny of the world.

3) I prefer my privacy over the advantages of immediately knowing a whole lot of things not worth being concerned about.

If someone wants to get hold of me...well they have my address or they can check the local library or bookstore.

It has crossed my mind that people come to Colorado and immediately purchase a or build a home in a very remote part of the state (of which there are many), because they want to get away from it all. Then they go out of their way at great expense to get reconnected with all the things they wanted to get away from.

Being a Luddite has some advantages... Like my mule Blossom said to me the other day..."If I have some pasture, and some water, and shelter from the weather...I have most of the advantages of being a mule"
