The 2010 date is only for the alleged, unverified 4G OFDM/CDMA handsets.

There's not enough money for any of these systems to be completely rolled out. I doubt that even mighty DoCoMo has the resources to roll out a full-fledged FOMA system in Japan.

The DoCoMo FOMA system is simply not working, and will take years to fix. Any OFDM/CDMA system is untested and unverified--the 2010 date is clearly a WAG.

It will take at least a couple of years for FOMA to fall flat on its face should things continue to go dismally--and they may not as I suppose it's possible that the FOMA problems could be fixed. In any event, the opportunities for KDDI are awesome. It's a win/win game for Q.

Rob_v will now tell you why Q has no royalties in any potential CDMA/OFDM combo. And, hey, it's going to be a Wi-LAN game, anyway.

Yada, yada, yada.
