Jerrome,

I live in the Rocky Mountains too. I love the wilderness and spend a lot of time there. But I don't want to be cut off from the world. I want to be able to let it in whenever I choose. Technology enables me to let in just the amount of the world that I want, when I want it. I see that as an advantage to living in the dark. But really, what we think is ideal is immaterial.

It has crossed my mind that people come to Colorado and immediately purchase a or build a home in a very remote part of the state (of which there are many), because they want to get away from it all. Then they go out of their way at great expense to get reconnected with all the things they wanted to get away from.

Maybe it's just people they wanted to get away from, not the amenities. Who wants to hot tub in the nude when their neighbors are staring out the window at them :-)?

Hi Jerome, ahem (OT) I have idly been watching this conversation.

Fact is... some folk just don't want to talk.

I got 47 yrs experience of dealing with my fellow human beings.

I see your points in many respects. You ain't no simple daft luddite (imho).

Some aspects of life really are plain and simple...

Just got to get the nutballs to understand a little about industry -g-
