Thanks, interesting article and so prophetic...

You know that I have a perspective on this that some find annoying. I think the problem, then and now, is that many of the Bishops themselves were homosexual, and while not necessarily abusers themselves, inclined to be more understanding and tolerant of priests who were. As you yourself have intimated, cases involving sexual contact between adults and teens are open to differing interpretations as to whether they truly should be considered abuse or molestation. The fact that so many were male/male allows an additional spin to be put on it, especially if one is inclined toward some degree of self-deception as to how serious the problem is. Had the whole thing involved priests molesting young girls, I don't think it ever would have been allowed to come to the point it is now.

Saying such out loud will probably renew the flamings ... but I truly believe this to be the case.
