Sure, I would have criticized you for not fulfilling your (conditional) promise. But not for breach of contract. And if someone had tried to put it on a legal basis, as if it were enforceable in principle, I would have called him crazy. On the other hand, had Poet started slamming you to third parties on public threads, and you therefore started posting to her to protest what she said, I would not have criticized you for breaking the agreement, although I would have defended Laz's right to return to the status quo ante, while asking him to consider the circumstances.
