Try and also look at OBV, the RSI (under .30) is a good indicator, but often in beaten up sectors RSI will stall under .30 for a long time, and the stock could be bought. Why would you want to enter the weakest sector in the market, on the next flush, it will probably lead the market down. I use the RSI (above .70) more to decide to get out of a stock despite its strong momentum (that is why I got out of POOL prematurely at around $32, it continued to $34 before it turned).
