The latest: Attorney General John Ashcroft on Monday overstated the potential threat posed by 'dirty bomb' suspect Abdullah Al Muhajir, Bush administration and law enforcement officials said Tuesday. (USA Today, June 12) He's been messing around with our civil liberties and democratically-passed state laws. He's been playing footsie with the gun lobby. Oh, and he doesn't dance. Even John Lithgow came around in Footloose. He's the boss of the FBI and his pre-Sept. 11th budget included $58 million in cuts to counter-terrorism activities -- yet thousands in spending to cover a naked statue!
