Price target is $8. 8:34AM S&P futures vs fair value: -11.3. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: -20.0. : Cash market is poised for a lower open. SLAB cites an increase in its wireless biz. 7:59AM JP Morgan cuts estimates for Ciena, Juniper : JP Morgan cuts FY02-03 ests for CIEN and JNPR, saying that the LU sales warning yesterday offers further evidence that the carrier spending slump continues; now believes CIEN's recovery is even further out than previously anticipated, and checks indicate that JNPR's Q2 is tracking behind plan as the carrier spending environment remains rough. 7:46AM Xilinx approves continuation of buyback plan (XLNX) 27.84: Co's board of directors authorizes the continuation of stock repurchase program started in Nov. 2000. The $100 mln program will beused primarily to offset dilution from employee stock plans. 7:28AM Cirrus Logic cut to Neutral at Solly -- growth concerns (CRUS) 8.94: Salomon Smith Barney downgrades to NEUTRAL from Buy. Firm concerned that orders may have weakened in the last couple of months, which might result in flatter revenues in the SeptQ vs firm's previous est of 6%. Solly slashes its FY03 est to ($0.15) from $0.05; price target goes to $9 from $18. 7:27AM Sanmina-SCI cut to Hold from Buy at CSFB (SANM) 8.03: CSFB downgrades to HOLD from Buy and cuts FY03 est to $0.30 from $0.60. Firm's near-term concerns about the adverse market environment facing SANM have extended into secular concerns about SANM's long term competitive positioning. 7:19AM Qualcomm cut to Mkt Perform at Deutsche -- writing on the wall (QCOM) 32.39: Deutsche Securities downgrades to MKT PERFORM following Sprint PCS release of dismal results. PCS announced that net subs would be approx. 300k vs consensus of 600-700k; capex was cut by $100 mln.
