Dr. Thomas Harris wrote a book in the early 70s called "I'm OK, You're OK." It was an immediate smash hit, and was on the required reading list for most intro to psychology classes across the country. I'm sure you have heard the phrase even if you haven't read the book (which you probably have). A whole new realm of psychology developed from this idea called "transactional analysis".

One of the basic tenets of TA is that human beings expect a return on there investment with other humans that is equivalent to the price paid in advance. Including a simple response to a morning greeting. Here is an example of one type of transaction:

Young guy walks into the library on a sunny spring day ready to research some articles on blue lazer experiments. There at the entry way, sitting in a soft chair and grinning from ear to ear, with a tan to good to be an accident, is a gorgeous young female wearing a halter top and short shorts. The boy is caught off guard and says softly "wow." The response from the sweet young thing is "f*%k off buster."

No, I disagree
the ones who did make deals, and sprained their ankles, whined about the deals and the ankles until other people killed them
to stop the whining

imo

I am sure people love to make deals and whine about them though
that is what keeps lawyers in business
and I guess lawyers prevent bloodshed, but prolong the irritation
