That is the amount of time it took for the bear to end in 1929, btw. Yes, that is one thing that bothers me, that we have gloom but not real despair. Perhaps we need total despair to make a bottom. OTOH there seems to be a remarkably strong recovery under way in the economy, so how long is it going to take before that feeds through into earnings? 6% growth can make things look better pretty quickly.
