The mortgage lending bubble still needs to unwind before we have a long term bottom which could take another couple years imo. JPM derivative exposure alone makes LTCM look like bush league. Then add in FNM GE etc etc etc.

Meanwhile agree we are very close to an intermediate rally that could be really good for a few months but I dont think the big bull is coming back for a while. Will take even a baby bull for now. Biotechs are trashed beyond recognition, throw a dart there now imo, going up soon (another week?).

My pt was when uncle Al helped save LTCM that gave a signal to the other derivative players that he will help them if they get upside down. I have no specific info on any derivative positions. But there are many more positions on now than in 1998 IMO.
