Well said, Ray and Ron

If I thought one party or the other were the solution, I'd vote for that party, but that isn't working.

The failure is one of expectation, and pollution of the political process to eliminate good people.
No leadership comes forth to say anything of consequence.
Either that or any insightfuls that exist are being hidden from us by the corporate media, which has no time for such thoughtfulness.

Stupid uninformed electorates are easier to manipulate and sell things to, I guess.

Does it really require ignorance to have a booming economy?
I mean, if another Mencken were making us laugh and scratching our heads today, would that reduce the sales of, say, SUVs?

Don't think so, I think the devolutionary trend is political, and technological, resulting from dispersal among isolated enclaves, a rat economy requiring two-wage earner households, and control of the media where our only knowledge of ourselves is throught its grotesque limitations. The front porch, and the internet, will change that, I hope. Maybe then we can take the Vicious Ones out of national politics and covert influence out of the mass media.
