Must be a reaction to the car bomb at the US Consulate in Karachi.

At first I thought it seemed kind of an over-reaction, since no Americans were hurt. But actually makes sense. Traders will not want to be long over the weekend because of fears this is the first in a wave of attacks. Which means we get a pretty big sell-off tomorrow. The futures boyz just figured that out and they're trying to front-run the stampede.

Well, it's the best guess I can come up with, LOL.

A terrorist strike on US soil right now would be devastating to the markets. One of the intents of the 9/11 strike was to destroy or severely injure the US market mechanisms. I believe that that one was deliberately executed at a time of weakness in the US equity markets.
