What you say works well on the upside, but not in the downturn like we may be having in some places, at least not for business owners like myself, who could have a double-whammy of declining luxury home prices and declining income. This happened to an acquaintance who's in jeopardy of losing his $2 mil home. Instead of building a large house for myself this year as I had planned, I'm building a smaller house first, to be used as a guest house if things pick up, and as rentals I'm sticking with 2 and 3 bedrooms instead of larger ones. What you say about location I agree, is important in either fat or lean years.

Good Lord.... What is really wonderful is that people have come out of the woodwork to speak their mind re: real estate thoughts.and..it is about time this thread came to life.. BUT what really SUCKS is that this is so complicated for the little guy tradesman to make the the decision and throw himself and his family of 4 of 20 years to the greedy bears... WHAT A BUNCH OF CRAP..... You people are a bunch of con artists...... I, AS THE average joe does not know who to trust due to the fact that there are so many of you and the greed and corruption (riding on "daddy's money" waitng to fuck me and my family. I don't know who to trust Your industry needs a cleaning...a wash..... What a bunch of crap... Too many of you with too many differing opinions JBH
