Shack -- while I do think a lot of folks are looking down, a survey of bears here on SI shows many of them lacking much in the way of shorts/puts (though lots of gold). This seems perfect for a major decline -- a lack of support. Yes, Rydex shows people looking down and the vix et al are showing fear today. So we could very well whipsaw and fly north from here for all I know, but my guess is against that (he says noting the dow 120 points off the low!) cuz I don't yet see sentiment supporting a bottom. One day of fear? No. Mind you, I wouldn't add to shorts here, particularly not in those pillars of strength MSFT and MMM! the freep
