speaking of microchips in a toaster, people aren't as stupid as CNBS would like us to think - well they are in the "distraction" business. God forbid we unite against them like people throughout history always eventually do. My point was that my wife's company deals with many farmers and they're pretty united that they won't buy new equipment (big tractors etc) because they know they have microchips in them that prevent them from being able to work on them themselves. I'm sure the auto industry thinks they're the best thing since "payments". Talk about controlled planned obsolescence - geesh!

I always figured that using chips they could program in the planned obsolescence, that after so many toastings it would cease to work and you would have to buy a new toaster.
