The Morphing of Mush I have been following the pakis and the pakiland ever since the country was vivisected. I still don't understand when some of those pakis talk about motherland, fatherland, my country, my Urdu etc. If it is not for the Hindus, they won't have any claim to any of them. The country (Pakistan) is the cradle of Hindu civilization. Even the bad Hindu practices such as caste system is becoming stronger in Pakistan even as the Hindus try hard to get rid of it. Their language is closely related to Hindi, though the script is a chicken-scratch. Musharaff has morphed since 9/11 and I must admit that is impressive. He can do things; He understands his place on the national and international stage. He needs a master to tell him what to do. And Americans fortuitously are playing that role. More power to the Americans. I too wish Musharaff a long life for he deserves credit for what he has done to the Taliban and Al Qaeda and the ISI. He has a long way to go: The northwest should be brought under control; the madarsah curriculum should be changed; the military should be sanitized and purged of the fundamentalists; the terrorist outfits should be shut down permanently; the rights of women, children and minorities should be protected; the nuclear menace should be addressed.
