Surf-like betamax, this is but one of many products for which there were many functional alternatives. The function itself was widely adopted in the US.The Bears say there is no demand for the functionality of 3g. There is absolutely no "function" the Japanese have adopted in consumer electronics that US consumers have adopted as well. I think thats the important point, not that the preferred method of watching movies on TV at home is on a different machine than in Japan.
