I guess that same article could have been (and was) written in Germany circa 1933--not to worry, real incidents of violence are low, Germans are civilized, Goethe, Schiller, etc., etc.

I guess that same article could have been (and was) written in Israel (Jenin) circa 2002--not to worry, real incidents of violence are low, Jews are civilized, Einstein, Freud, etc., etc.

Re: I guess that same article could have been (and was) written in Germany circa 1933....

Hardly... Keep in mind that there were no African/Arab immigrants in 1930s Europe, and Germany didn't host 2.3 million Turkish gastarbeiters... Moreover, anti-Semitism was part of Europe's Zeitgeist --it was an institutional as well as a popular phenomenon. Contrariwise, today's European Gestapos are joining with Judeofascists against Arab/Muslim minorities... Nazism and Jew-bashing belong to the past, Judeofascism is the future.
