Yes, about 17 yrs in the finc'l industry, now 2+ years on my own .... have always used 'M' for thousand's, and 'MM' for millions .... always assumed everyone else did the same.
Never would have thought that would be a 'give away' ;-)

In Roman numerals, M designates 1000.
Hence M x M = MM = 1000 x 1000 = 1 million
