about vix and vxn. some said the absolute numbers are not necessarily the right approach. it is better to view them in either a regression channel or a bollinger band. we can check historical charts to see how this works into the scenario. vix spiked high on 6/07, intc friday just like today. i agree with you about what is needed for a good bottom. wont see it next week. unless orcl really messes up (reports on tuesday) and causes delta hedge in indices. but i see that chance very remote.
