Computer housekkeping,

Do you get SPAM emails that are addressed to you by name. I just ran a free spyware search and destroy program on my computer. It found 19 running spyware programs that I had no idea were on my computer. These sleezy bastards run diminished and feed info nonstop to the ad companies that sneaked them in via the internet.

Now I am probably anal about my privacy on the internet. I have programs that stop cookies. Programs that kill popups.

I regularly empty my temp files and start over with logins. But these spyware programs piss me off.

This is a great little free program from C-Net Downloads that sure opened my eyes.

Naw, not a single child was scared in the making and reading of that post. Nor should any adult be. Think of it: 1500-1250 is only a 16.67% drop, which is the sum of it for the next 6 week period. Or 1 week period.

Most daytraders can weather that. Investors, already reduced over the past 26 months, might find it harder to swallow.

And I'm a natural bull who shorts very sparingly. Do I buy the notion of gold aficionados that we'll go past the last run to $800 and hit a cool thou? No. Not in the next year. Maybe in 5 years we'll see something on that scale. But I think gold will continue to surprise and delight on its spikes.

Please note the next post for an update.
