Here are a few comments in reply to your post: >Who is against whom? People against people --- for any reason --- as usual. >Most of us here in the USA could have left Islam alone if not for 9/11. True, but your gov has been messing with Islamic countries for many years so this thing didn't start last September. Whatever the reason for it, 911 was simply a dramatic turn in a "conflict" which has been going on for a long time already. >maybe one religion wants to destroy the other Hard to believe because all the religions (Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Hinduism) are just too big today. Actually, the only "religious" entity that is being threatened is Israel and that is because Islam claims the Zionists took their land. Anyway, in my opinion, that's where all the trouble begins and ends. And, to compound the difficulty, there's no solution. Israel will simply not return to the UN designated 1967 boundaries and the Palestinians will not make peace unless Israel does return, and maybe not even then. >Personally I believe if God had made religion it would have been inclusive so maybe most of religion is just another poor invention of us humans. I think you have hit the nail on the head. Religion has very little to do with belief in God and a lot to do with power (including influence on government) and money. Clearly, the differences between the theistic religions are more divisive than the similarities created by worshipping the same God. Even more to the point, the differences within each religion give rise to more hatred and animosity than between the various religions eg Catholic and Protestant Christians, Sunni and Shiite Muslims, Torah Jews and Zionists. BTW, I believe in God but I don't believe in religion. In fact, I can't stand religion, any one.
